I just got done watching the film adaptation of Richard Yates’ “Revolutionary Road,” starring power house onscreen couple Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. The beginning starts off a bit slow but picks up towards the middle highlighting the very essence of the bitterness of life.

A very gut wrenching film about the hardships of life told through the struggles of a married couple, Frank and April Wheeler. Touching base on the emotional torment we think about every day, through the relationships with our spouse, children, neighbors, friends and co-workers. The film also discusses controversial subject matter which serves as the basis in numerous heated debates in society today let alone during an era written and set back in the conservative 1950s. Overall the movie was a wonderful film that was beautifully casted, and tastefully executed. The adaptation of the story however, fell a little short. Unfortunately at certain parts, the movie was a bit cheesy and drawn out but never the less, a definite watch in my opinion.

To other people, its the pinnacle of your life, witnessing the moment when you know… you finally made it.

How will you know? Some determine that as getting that dream job you’ve worked so hard for, marrying that special someone you thought you never had a chance with, being a home owner for the very first time, buying that car you’ve always wanted or dreamed of, graduating from school, being a parent for the first time, starting a business thats expanded far beyond your wildest imagination. All life defining moments that make us question the value of our life up until now. Some may even achieve all of those but never feel the satisfaction of living up to these unrealistic demands.

Watching this video makes me enthusiastic and anxious for when I define the moment in my life when “I’ve finally made it!”
